Board Recruitment

Oct 20, 2023

Dear Singers and Friends of the San Francisco Choral Society,

Since its founding in 1989, the San Francisco Choral Society has established itself as a premier symphonic chorus. Our work lies in our commitment to excellence and education in the choral performing arts, with our all-volunteer auditioned singers and audience members. We strive to foster a vibrant, diverse, and interactive choral community. We seek talented and enthusiastic individuals from inside or outside our organization who understand the Choral Society’s mission and can help ensure its continued impact and success.

We seek individuals with a range of experience, including, but not limited to:

● Fundraising
● Diversity, equity and inclusion
● Corporate connections
● Accounting/Finance/Bookkeeping
● Web development
● Graphic design
● Legal
● Technology development, in particular, live streaming

Prior board experience, while helpful, is not required. Non-singers are also encouraged to apply to join the Board. Board members serve at least one two-year term, during which they actively participate in board meetings, committees, and activities that may include fundraising, recruiting additional board members, special assignments, and promoting concerts. Finally, they contribute what is for each member, a meaningful amount of money. The minimum suggested donation is $350 per year.
